ifm efector pressure sensors are designed to monitor the system pressure in hydraulic and pneumatic applications. With no moving parts such as pistons or springs that can stick or break, they are a solid state alternative to mechanical switches.
|
|
ifm efector sensors incorporate the same ceramic pressure sensing technology found in high accuracy pressure transmitters that cost considerably more. Ceramic pressure sensors are the preferred choice because they can withstand higher overpressure and are more resistant to pressure spikes. |
The base of the ceramic sensor has a measuring electrode plus a reference electrode. Attached to the base with a glass solder layer is a diaphragm containing a second measuring electrode. The two measuring electrodes form the plates of a capacitor and, with no pressure applied to the sensor, the electrodes are approximately 10mm apart. As pressure is applied to the diaphragm, this distance decreases, increasing the capacitance value and producing a signal that is proportioned to the applied pressure. This sensing element, when combined with its mechanical mounting provides overall long term mechanical stability.

A Variety of Sensor Solutions |
|
| PN
series pressure sensors PN Series pressure sensors feature a three-digit numeric display to program the switching points and provide an accurate readout of system pressure. A DC dual output version and an AC switching output version are available. |

| PF
and PI series flush mount pressure sensors The PF Series flush mount sensor is designed to monitor pressure in food, beverage and other sanitary applications and meets 3A, FDA and EHEDG requirements. These units are only a fraction of the size and weight of conventional process transmitters. The PI Series pressure sensor are designed for high temperature applications up to 293∫F. |

| PL
and PM flush mount transmitters Series PL and PM transmitters are two-wire units with a scalable 4-20 mA analog output. These models are designed for food, beverage and other sanitary applications and meet 3A, FDA and EHEDG requirements. The high temperature PM Series transmitters are rated for media temperatures up to 293∫F. |

PA
series pressure transmitters - Email
for Details The PA Series pressure transmitter provides a linear analog output, 4-20 mA or 0-10 V, in a compact housing. To withstand shock and vibration, the sensor’s electronic components are mounted on flexible film instead of rigid circuit boards. |
