The SNAP-PAC-S1 programmable automation
controller provides powerful, real-time control and communications
to meet your industrial control, monitoring, and data acquisition
needs. One of the four components of the SNAP PAC
System, the SNAP-PAC-S1 is fully integrated with PAC Project
software, SNAP PAC brains, and SNAP I/O modules to form a complete
control system. The SNAP PAC System includes digital and analog
control, serial string handling, PID loops, and enterprise
connectivity.
The controller is compact and
industrially hardened. It includes two independent Ethernet network
interfaces with separate IP addresses, which can be used to segment
the control network from the company network or for redundant
Ethernet links. |
The SNAP-PAC-S2 programmable automation
controller provides powerful, real-time control and communications
to meet your industrial control, monitoring, and data acquisition
needs. Part of Opto 22's S-series family of industrial controllers, the SNAP-PAC-S2 is fully integrated with PAC Project software, SNAP PAC brains, and SNAP I/O modules to form a complete control system. The SNAP PAC System includes digital and analog control, serial string handling, PID loops, and enterprise connectivity. The controller is compact and industrially hardened. It includes two independent Ethernet network interfaces with separate IP addresses, which can be used to segment the control network from the company network or for redundant Ethernet links. The SNAP-PAC-S2 controller is well
suited for use with serial-based I/O units and serial devices. The
SNAP-PAC-S2 has four serial ports that can be individually
configured as either RS-232 or RS-485 (2-wire or 4-wire). Configured
as RS-232, serial ports support serial device communication or a
Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) modem connection for creating a TCP/IP
network over PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) lines.
Configured as RS-485, serial ports connect to SNAP PAC Serial brains
or to legacy Opto 22 mistic™ I/O units, including the serial B3000
brain and remote mistic bricks. |

Qlarity Foundry R1.53 software is now available as a free download. (The software is included with the purchase of an Opto 22 OptoTerminal-G70 or OptoTerminal-G75.) This interface design and integration software is used to program the OptoTerminal-G70 and OptoTerminal-G75 graphics-based operator interface terminals, which are used with Opto 22 Ethernet-based I/O systems.
Qlarity Foundry R1.53 uses a new object library that recognizes ioControl's tag database. This means all tags, strategy variables, and other elements in a SNAP Ultimate I/O system or SNAP-LCE controller can be easily accessed from a simple drop-down menu, rather than having to use addresses in the brain's memory map. This results in faster, easier operator interface design and implementation.
The accompanying Quick Start Guide has been updated to describe how to use this new ioControl object library, and additionally enhanced to provide direct, simple instructions for common tasks in Qlarity Foundry.

Note that Qlarity Foundry's new support for ioControl strategies only works with
ioControl R5.0 or newer.
The OptoTerminal Programming Software contains the Qlarity Foundry software application used to program the OptoTerminal-G70 and OptoTerminal-G75 operator interfaces. This complete installation includes user's guides and current OptoTerminal firmware, which can also be downloaded separately.
Opto 22 - ioProject Suite
The Opto 22 ioProject software suite provides full-featured control and HMI development tools to complete your SNAP Ethernet system. Easy to use and suitable for any project, from simple equipment management to full industrial control, the ioProject suite includes:
ioControl™,
a graphical, flowchart-based programming tool for machine control and
process applications. Using ioControl, you create, download, and run
control programs on a SNAP-LCE controller or on SNAP Ultimate I/O. In
addition to flowchart programming, ioControl includes a powerful,
built-in scripting language based on C and other procedural languages.
ioControl is included in the purchase price of a SNAP-LCE controller
or a SNAP Ultimate brain.See the ioProject 5.1a Release Notes for more information. (Form 1474, pdf)
You can purchase the ioProject software suite in two ways:
ioControl
is a graphical, flowchart-based programming tool for industrial
automation, remote monitoring, and data acquisition applications. Using ioControl,
you create, download, and run control programs on a SNAP-LCE
industrial controller or on a SNAP
Ultimate I/O controller/brain.
In addition to its flowchart-based programming that lets you write control strategies visually, key features that make ioControl easy to use include:
New features in ioControl version R5.1a include:
Try ioControl for yourself. Click here to download.
ioControl has a similar look and feel to Opto 22’s established OptoControl™ flowchart-based development environment and will be familiar to OptoControl users. However, ioControl is designed for use solely with SNAP Ultimate I/O systems and SNAP-LCE industrial controllers; it cannot use control strategies developed in OptoControl.
ioControl is included in the purchase price of any SNAP-LCE controller or SNAP Ultimate controller/brain.

You can buy ioDisplay only:
For more information, see the ioDisplay data sheet in Related Documents, below. Or check out the ioDisplay demo:
ioManager, part of the ioProject software suite, is a utility application used to assign IP addresses to SNAP-LCE controllers and SNAP Ethernet-based I/O units, and to configure I/O points and I/O unit features. If you have multiple I/O units that use the same configuration, ioManager lets you configure all I/O units simultaneously. In addition, you can inspect, read from, or write to I/O units in real time.
ioManager
is included with your purchase of any SNAP Ultimate, SNAP Ethernet, or
SNAP Simple I/O brain or any SNAP-LCE controller. The software and
documentation are on the CD that came with the brain or controller.
You can also download ioManager, by itself or as part of the ioProject software suite.
OptoOPCServer is a fast, efficient OPC 2.0-compliant server for exchanging data between Ethernet-based systems running ioControl strategies and other OPC clients.
